Library Renovation and Upgrade

The pre-existing, undersized library at William W. Niles Junior High School was part of the original school built in 1939 and was in extremely poor condition. The Principal requested an updated 21st century library with the technology for student education through computers as well as books. The new library is 50% larger than the original and includes a separate librarian work area, conference area, laptop study center, and built-in shelving and furniture. Within the main reading area, there is a raised platform for reading and special events and can be separated by sliding privacy screens for smaller break-out groups. New floor to ceiling finishes were installed to enhance the lighting, acoustics, and ambiance to transform the library into an energetic space of modern learning.
